Trivia: The identity of the lover in this song has been a subject of debate for over 30 years. Read it below (taken from Wikipedia)

Simon has never publicly acknowledged in full the subject of “You’re So Vain”. Before the song became a hit single, she told an interviewer that the song was about “men,” not a specific “man.” Since its release, many have speculated about the identity of its subject (or subjects).

Warren Beatty

In a 1989 interview, Simon acknowledged that the song is a little bit about Warren Beatty but said that the subject of the song is a composite of three men from her L.A. days. In a 2007 interview, Beatty said, “Let’s be honest. That song was about me.” Simon has said that Beatty had called and thanked her for the song.

Mick Jagger

In 1983, she told the Washington Post that it is not about Mick Jagger, who contributed uncredited backing vocals to the song. In the 1993 book Backstage Passes, Angela Bowie claimed to be the “wife of a close friend” in “You’re So Vain,” and that Jagger, for a time, had been “obsessed” with her. Simon made another comment about the subject’s identity as a guest artist on Janet Jackson’s 2001 single, “Son of a Gun (I Betcha Think This Song Is About You),” which sampled “You’re So Vain.” In the song, Simon says “The apricot scarf was worn by Mick. Nothing in the words were referred to Mick.”

David Geffen

In February 2010, Simon told Uncut that the name of the subject was whispered backwards in a re-recording of “You’re So Vain”: “There’s a little whisper — and it’s the answer to the puzzle.” A representative for Simon confirmed that the name whispered during the song is “David”. Multiple media outlets quickly reported that the subject was actually Simon’s former boss at Elektra, David Geffen (full name David Lawrence Geffen), and that the song had been inspired by her jealousy of the attention Geffen had lavished on label-mate Joni Mitchell. The following day, Jim Hart, Simon’s ex-husband and close friend, denied that the song was about Geffen. Simon’s publicist confirmed that the song was not about Geffen, but that there was indeed “a David who is connected to the song in some way, shape, or form.” Vanity Fair noted that in addition to “David”, “Warren” and an unintelligible name are whispered during the recording, further adding to the mystery.

Other possible subjects

Over the years, Simon has divulged “letter clues”, and has allowed that the subject’s name contains the letters A, E, and R.

Shortly before the writing of the song, Simon was married to James Taylor; she has said that he was “definitely not” the subject of the song. Kris Kristofferson, David Bowie, David Cassidy and Cat Stevens have all been cited by the press as possible candidates. In 2005, Simon’s ex-husband Jim Hart said he was sure that the song was not about anyone famous.

In August 2003, Dick Ebersol, president of NBC Sports and a friend of Simon, was the highest bidder for a Martha’s Vineyard Possible Dreams charity auction offering in which the prize was the revelation of the person that “You’re So Vain” was about. After making the winning bid of $50,000, Ebersol was given a private performance of the song at Simon’s home and Simon whispered the subject into his ear. A condition of the prize was that Ebersol would not reveal the person to anyone. Ebersol said that Simon allowed him to divulge a clue about the person’s name: “Carly told me that I could offer up to the entire world, a clue as to what she’ll tell me when we have this night in about two weeks. And the clue is: The letter ‘E’ is in the person’s name.”

In 2004, Simon told Regis Philbin, “If I tell it, it’s going to come out in dribs and drabs. And I’ve given out two letters already, an ‘A’ and an ‘E.’ But I’m going to add one to it. I’m going to add an ‘R,’ in honor of you.”

Several days after the identity of Watergate-era press source Deep Throat was revealed during the summer of 2005, Simon joked to USA Today that the song was about Mark Felt, who revealed himself as the legendary Watergate source.

On November 4th, 2009, while being interviewed on WNPR’s Soundcheck, Simon revealed that she had hidden the name of the subject in a certain version of the song. The next day, the program’s crew revealed the name concealed in a back-played whisper:^[18] David. Assuming all of the clues to-date are true, this would not be David Bowie (no R); however, Bowie’s real name is David Robert Jones, making it a possibility. However, Carly has denied that the whisper was David, saying she has spoked “Ovid” both forwards and backwards, and that sounded like David.

On June 19, 2008, Howard Stern claimed Simon privately revealed who the song was written about to him after her interview on his popular radio show heard on Sirius Satellite Radio. Stern commented, “There is an odd aspect to it … he’s not that vain.” On March 17 2009, Stern, recalling that Simon had told him whom the song was written about, claimed that Simon said it was a “composite of three people”.

It is about a 78-year old balloon salesman Carl Fredricksen, who finally fulfills his lifelong dream of a great adventure when he ties thousands of balloons to his house and flies away to the wilds of South America. Not knowing, along his trip, Russell a very optimistic 8 years old Wilderness Explorer who desperately wants to have his final badge by Assisting the Elderly made his way above and beyond to respond to the call of his duty which is to assist Mr. Fredricksen in the wilds of South America.

I loved the idea of tying thousands of balloons in his house in order for him to fly.  I also admired the character of Dug. He is a lovable golden mutt who wants to prove that he belongs to his master.

This movie is  both funny and adventurous and conveys moral values that our relationship with others is what makes our life meaningful and colorful and that makes our happiness goes UP.

For sure, maiiyak na naman ako nito. Ganunpaman, panonoorin ko parin ang unang pelikulang ito na pagtatambalan nina Sam Milby at Anne Curtis. Survivor

Each week, I waited and was always looking forward to its new episodes. You know the feeling? Where you just can’t get enough of it and you really want to know what’s next…especially on what will Russel Hantz’ next strategic move. Gossshhh… He was so entertaining and amazing. Imagine, who would have thought of getting the immunity idols without clues and it happened not only once but many times. I am just so sad that the jury preferred Natalie White to win. He really played the hardest and was so close to grabbing the title of Sole Survivor. The jury should have based it on who really OUTWITTED, OUTLASTED, AND OUTPLAYED the GAME and not on personal issues or any.

But on a second thought, Survivor is created to have a jury. For you to be declared as the SOLE SURVIVOR, you should win the hearts of the jury who were the eliminated players. Unfortunately, Russel was the mastermind behind most of the eliminations. That’s why they were so bitter to him.

So in the end, it was Natalie’s maintaining of low profile and being a shadow of Russel which made her won the game. She even got more votes with the remarkable final speech of Erik. Congrats Natalie! I am still happy that the final 3 members were from the Foa Foa Tribe.

Survivor Samoa is just the best season that they have ever aired (so far). And Russel Hantz contributed the greatest factor of it. He is my favorite player, next to Ruper Boneham of Survivor: Pearl Islands and Survivor: All Stars. And I am soooooooo looking forward to the 20th season of Survivor whose players will be the Heroes and the Villains. I’ve learned that he will be the wildcard player. This is definitely an interesting game considering how brilliant and strategic Russel is. YAY!

Short Trivia:
Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains has already started taping and everyone has no idea of who Russel Hantz is. The logo for the upcoming season will no longer be Outwit, Outlast and Outplay but Return, Revenge and Redemption.

Anyway, super excited ako sa bagong chapter ng Precious Hearts Romance na pagbibidahan nina Cristine Reyes and Jake Cuenca. Naiintriga din talaga ako sa title niya na “My Cheating Heart” at parang maganda rin naman ang story.

My Cheating Heart tells the story of childhood friends Mio and Nadine. Jake shared how his character Mio will develop feelings for his best friend. “Mag-best friend kami sa simula. Makikita niyo si Mio na walang malisya kay Nadine, pero si Nadine may gusto na kay Mio. Pupunta ng US si Nadine and pagbalik niya after many years, magugulat si Mio kasi sobra nang ganda ni Nadine. Hindi makapaniwala si Mio kasi huli niyang nakita si Nadine maitim at patpatin. Ngayon maganda na talaga siya.”

Jake’s last TV role was man in uniform Dave Garcia in the top-rating primetime teleserye Tayong Dalawa. According to him, playing Mio is much more relaxed than his role in Tayong Dalawa. “Si Mio mature umasta, very straightforward. Broken-hearted kasi siya. Dapat ikakasal na siya, pero ‘yung girlfriend niya iniwan siya sa altar mismo. Mio got so depressed. Dadating si Nadine and she will help Mio get back on his feet again. Gagawin niya ang lahat para mapasaya ako uli. Pero underneath that is ‘yung plan niya na ma-fall in love ako sa kanya.”

Ayon pa kay Jake, perfect show din raw ito para sa mga Hopeless Romantic. Hmmmnnn….pipilitin ko talagang makasubabybay sa My Cheating Heart.

I really pity those ladies/women he has slept with. That kind of weird trip shouldn’t be tolerated. It’s a disrespect to all the women out there. How could you do that? What if that thing happens to your mother or your sisters? Is it okay with you? Where is your moral? And how could this person who spread these videos so cruel? What’s your motive? Money? Vengeance? Whatever that is, it doesn’t justify your action. So please stop it.

I just hope these 40 videos are not true. If they are, please have them thrown to a recycle bin including all back-ups. It’s time to change and move forward, the first three videos have done a lot of damaged already. You wouldn’t want to get it worst right?
